Our complete african pygmy hedgehog setup includes a ferplast 100 indoor cage with house (cage size 95x57x40cm), a running wheel, food, water bowl, water bottle, sawdust, a mix of our hedgehog food (royal canin baby cat 34 chicken mixed with dried mealworms), a small plastic travel carrier for your hedgehog to travel in and our care sheet for African Pygmy Hedgehogs.  We also have an option to include some basic health care items which we keep routinely for ours just in case, this will include a treatment for mites, rehydration powder electrolyte solution) should your hedgehog ever get diarrhoea and probiotics solution for settling tummies and helping hedgehogs through the stress of moving, the probiotics are ideal for young animals transferring to a new home, for full information please see below.

Lectade Small Animal Rehydration Powder-Please note vets give this for use in small animals also.  This is something I would not be without, as animals can go down hill rapidly with dehydration.



Lectade Small Animal Rehydration Powder is a well known oral rehydration therapy for cats and dogs used to reverse the effects of dehydration and loss of electrolytes following diarrhoea.

Dogs and cats showing signs of diarrhoea should have fresh solution in place of water.

In the event of the animal refusing to drink lectade give water. Once recommended dose of lectade has been given replace with fresh water. If condition persists seek veterinary advice.

The active ingredient, ivermectin, is a substance known as an endectocide because it kills parasites that cause infestation inside the body (endoparasites) as well as those living outside the body, on the skin (ectoparasites).  Ivermectin is used in many species for the control of mites, roundworms and lice.
