Unfortunately there are many adverts and scams out there, be sure you are getting a baby and not an adult hedgehog.  Look at the environment they are kept in, are they handled, are they clean, do they look healthy, have you seen the parents, never feel under pressure to buy.  A good breeder will not put any pressure on you to buy from  them. 

It is best to have your setup up and running ready for your new pet hedgehog, a baby hedgehog is going to be quite stressed after the move, allow a few days before handling your hedgehog, after this time try to make a routine to spend time with your pet hedgehog every day, the more time you spend the more at ease your hedgehog will be.  Don’t expect them to get used to you in a week, hedgehogs are not that domesticated yet, but with the right amount of time they will love you back and enjoy spending time with you, first you must build their trust.

Give them a little treat of meal worms, this is a firm favourite with my hedgehogs, although not too many, you don't want a porky hedgehog, sweet corn is a close second when it comes to favourite treats.

Give them toys, ours like the cat balls with the bells in the middle.  A large ball for them to run around in will protect them from harm, especially if you are not keeping an eye on them all the time.  They can quickly get themselves into a dangerous situation.
