Fun and games don't have to stop once you've grown up. Because we believe in playfulness at all ages, you'll find a new friend in your African Pygmy Hedgehog pet.

We are adding new information all the time to arm you with as much information as possible to make the right choices as to whether a Pygmy Hedgehog is for you or not.

One huge benefit to having a pet hedgehog is that people with allergies shouldn't have any problems as they have spikes not fur! We are very experienced and have been breeding way before these hogs hit the headlines, they do have huge characters.

My children adore them. A good hedgehog is down to reputable breeders, anyone can breed hedgehogs, register them and give them a name, that does not make them a responsible breeder, we are certainly not saying its a bad idea, just explaining our personal view and why we do not register our babies. We keep full history of our breeds and never inbreed nor do we ever breed from bad health, our aim mainly is to improve temperament and health, we feel this is important. We hope to also include some rarer colours in our lines as we grow, we also now offer a re-homing service as breeders ourselves we have a responsibility to the hedgehogs to have them back at anytime should you not be able to care for them, there is no charge for us to re-home them from you.

We prefer to work on, previous history of our pets and referrals and have been breeding for many years. We keep a file of our fantastic testimonials here that people have sent in the post or emailed, you are welcome to see these when you visit. We choose our parents very carefully and if a health problem was to arise from any one of our litters we would not breed from those parents again, they would be kept as family pets, which all of our hedgehogs are whether breeding or not and we love them all.

Each and every one has a different character, we call them time wasters for good reason!!

Important Notice

We had a recent email asking if it is true that there are only 8 recommended/authorised breeders in the UK, this is nonsense, there are no authorised breeders in the UK and some of those that say there is, are heavily involved in breeding themselves, therefore cannot be assumed to be unbiast.

There are NO authorised UK breeders, it is down to reputation and a registered hedgehog is no better than non-registered, many breeders feel the same, it does not mean better quality or that the breeder is any better than those who choose to be independent.  Recommendations are only opinions, we have heard some horror stories of breeders who sell registered hedgehogs, but turn out to be back yard breeders and are breeding purely for financial gain, there is nothing wrong with breeding for money,  if the hedgehogs receive the best care available, in some of these cases they didnt.
